Established in Auckland in 1989, Stephen Matthews Architects is a select team of architects and designers based on Auckland’s North Shore, we work together to deliver high-quality architectural outcomes for our clients. Our range of experience and creative, solutions-focused attitude allows us to develop innovative and elegant buildings.

We offer our clients the option of a full service engagement where we manage the project at every stage to ensure the process runs as smoothly as possible.
Our thorough and current knowledge of Council planning regulations and consent procedures, and our longstanding relationships in the construction industry mean that we are able to competently navigate the complex process of taking a project through from concept to completion. We pride ourselves on clear and effective communication with clients, contractors and consultants throughout our time working together.
For clients wanting to explore the development potential of a site or building they own or are considering purchasing, we offer a consulting service to provide feasible options for development within applicable planning controls and indicative budgets.
We can offer advice on sustainable design solutions, such as solar power, efficient ventilation, low toxicity material choices, passive and active solar design and environmentally senstive sanitary disposal systems.
