Nurse Maude Utilities Building

Christchurch

Providing services support to the Nurse Maude site in St Albans, Christchurch, the Utilities building formed the first stage of new development works on this site after the Christchurch earthquakes. The building was designed in partnership with Trengrove Architects as part of an overall scheme for the site, incorporating refurbished existing buildings as well as other new buildings to replace damaged facilities which provided aged residential care services to Christchurch residents. Stephen Matthews Architects carried out design and coordination for this technically-demanding project, bringing together the complex requirements of various specialist consultants ensuring the functionality and durability of this facility.
